The NZS5828 / EN1176 Playsafe 3D Probe Set is a collection of test tools designed for playground entrapment testing.
 
Proudly New Zealand-made and moulded, using NZ Made Polylactic plastic. Finger rods and projection gauges are machined from Aluminum.
 
This set includes 10 Entrapment Probes, such as Probe E (Small Head), Probe C (Torso), Probe D (Large Head), Wedge Probe* (Partially bound and V-shaped openings), Toggle Test Device - Chain and Toggle (Slides, Roofs & Firemans Poles), and Finger Rods with varying sizes for different types of connections. The Rocking Equipment Ring Gauge (Eye Socket) is also included, as well as a Playsafe Probe Bag (Backpack) and an instruction manual that provides a brief explanation of each probe and its application.
 
It's important to note that the Wedge Probe is designed with a unique 'clip together' joint for ease of storage and freight. Although an instruction manual is included, the use of these probes should be read in conjunction with the requirements of NZS5828:2015 /BS EN 1176 Part 1.
 
It's worth noting that this set of entrapment probes is different from those contained in the Annex D of BS EN 1176 Part 1. For instance, the ‘toggle test probe’ excludes the collar and pole as specified in NZS5828 /BS EN 1176, and instead has a simple handle. This modification makes the tool lighter and less cumbersome for practical use.
